Dutch Hospital Ship SUFFERS BLAST CASUALTIES. (Rec. 8.50.) BATAVIA, Feb. 24. A nurse, who was killed, and a woman chemist, who was seriously injured, were among the casualties aboard the Dutch hospital ship “Op Ten Toort,” which was bombed, and on w'hich thirteen are officially listed as injured; but many more were cut by flying glass, or shocked by the bomb blast. The operating theatre was wrecked and much equipment was destroyed. The ship was on , a trial run. The Japanese bombers were returning from the raiding of Sourabaya. The captain swung the helm hard ovex- when he saw the attackers diving, and the bombs just missed the hospital ship. The Dutch state that Japan was not only a party to the Geneva Red Cross Convention, but entered into an agreement with the Dutch Government whereby both countries undertook to respect 'each other’s hospital ships.
