RAIDS ON MALTA

TEN ALERTS IN A DAY. (Rec’. 10.55.) RUGBY, Feb. 24. There were ten alerts sounded in Malta during the twenty-four hours ended on Monday. Five of the alerts were when enemy aircraft crossed tne coast and dropped bombs. These caused negligible damage and no casualties. Later yesterday, a number of aircraft again crossed the coast. These dropped bombs, causing slight damage. Anti-aircraft defences shot down one bomber into the sea.
