NELSON CREEK NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent) A successful boys’ boxing tournament was held in the 1 Nelson Creek Hall on Saturday, competitors from Ngahere, Moonlight, Blackball and Nelson Creek taking part. Keen interest was shown bv enthusiastic patrons, and for the benefit of both competitors and those interested, it is hoped to make this an annual event. Messrs S. McMasters and G. Weir acted as referees’ seconds, being Messrs g. Kerr and Jack Fisher. Results wefe as follows: —Pat Gosling (Nelson Creek) beat Ronnie Ross (Ngahere); H. McDougall (Blackball) drew with I. Mulcare (Ngahere); P. Doolan (Moonlight) beat B. Collins (Blackball); Maurice Tuck (Nelson Creek) beat a. Shaffer (Blackball); W. Davie (Blackball) drew with T. Mulcare (Ngahere); D. Adamson ,(Nelson Creek) drew with T. Fielding (Blackball); I. McClure (Blackball) beat J. Fisher (Nelson Creek); W. Commode (Blackball) beat K. Fisher (Nelson Creek); T. Davie (Blackball) beat B. Adamson (Nelson Creek); McCluie (Blackball) drew with McDonnell (Moonlight); T. Dillon (Blackball) beat A. Stenhpuse (Blackball); F. Mulcare (Ngahere) beat J. Collins (Blackball); J. McGuigan (Blackoall) beat J. Gosling (Nelson Creek); V. Tuck (Nelson Creek) beat P. Lowery (Blackball); C. Ross (Ngahere) drew with F. McDonnell (Moonlight); G. Rae (Blackball) beat R. Hayes (Blackball); Patterson (Blackball) beat A. Cowan (Ngahere). In an exhibition bout, Peter Mountford (Blackball) beat Melville Ord (Nelson Creek). A short dance followed, music being supplied by Mrs. Ord.
