N.Z. CENTENNIAL

WESTLAND ACCOUNTS. The Westland Centennial Council is now finalising its accounts in connection with last year’s activities associated with the New Zealand Cenfeiiual Celebrations. The total cost was £2896. whereof £l.BOO was expended in space ana display at the exhibition. Nearly £l.o'oo_was spent in publications. The revenue balanced this cost, so that there is no deficiency, and all accounts have’ been paid. The local bodies contributed upwards of- £2.000 and publications realised £750, with stocks still on hand to be sold for the benefit .of the Scholarship Fund. The total received on account ot the Scholarship Fund was £970 and two years scholarship were arranged There is a credit of £869 on deposit to carry on the scholarships for several years. The. executive will call for nominations for next V e a r s scholarship shortly. The scholarship and its scope for training should be a worthv reminder of the Centennial in years to come.
