CLOSER RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA
The following report was received too late for inclusion in the Magazine Page: There was an attendance of 10 members at the inaugural meeting of the Aid -to Russia Provisional Committee of Runanga, held in the School of Mines on Sunday morning, September 7, at 10.30 o’clock. Several organisations are already represented on this committee, including the clergy, State Miners’ Union, Coop. Miners’ Union, Labour Party, Democratic Labour Party, and the W.E.A. However, as these representations are not all official, it was decided to contact all organisations, asking them to send official representatives to the next meeting of the Committee. It is desired to build the Committee on a representative basis that will include all religious, political and other bodies who will assist in this worthy object. Uncle Scrim will be invited to visit Runanga, and together with the Rev. Mr Robertson of Runanga, to .address the public meeting which will be held when arrangements are completed.
