Kumana Inquiry: An inquiry into an alleged irregularity at the start of the Diggers’ Handicap Trot, at the Kumara Racing Club’s meetinp- at Kumara. oh Easter Monday April 14 last, wi'l be conducted at Greymouth th’s evening, bv the New Zealand Trotting Association.
The race was won bv LouMi Derg (48yds) by a length from Hehnora ,scr>. with Taruna (48vds) three lengths nwav thwd. After the race, J R. Coburn, trainer of Helenora, lodged a protest aeain e t Lough Derg being awarded first place, on the ground that Lough Derg had started from the 36 yards line, and not irom the 48 vards ’ine, whereon he was handicapped.
