Avondale Statistics: A record year for totalisator investments and the number of horses starting, was reported at the annual meeting of the Avondale Jockey C.uh. Tax paid to the Government amounted to £26,951, and taxation fioni a.i sources £28,538 The President (Mr J. E. Welts) said that the totahsatar turnover for the year amounted to £287,508, a club record. Stabs distributed totalled £14,075. At tne Cup meeting in September, 269 horses started, and the totaiisator turnover was £107,111, a record for the Club The spring meeting turnover was £77,154. and the number of starters 189. The autumn meeting in April last was a record for the meeting, the totaiisator returns .being £103,242, and the number ' of starters 267.
