KUMARA NOTES
[Cur Own correspondent: Miss M. Eades, of New Brighton, has been spending a holiday here as the guest of Miss. E. King. Mrs J. H. Beard is spending a tew days in Christchurch. Mr Claude Downes, who has been an inmate of the Reefton Hospital, has been discharged, and is making a good recovery. Mr W. Hynes, local landscape gardener was a week-end visited to Greymouth, as the guest of Mr and Mrs G S. McGallan. Mr and Mrs W. Gardiner were week-end visitors tn Greymouth. Mr A. J. Smith of the staff of the Empire Hotel, is visiting Christchurch. Mr Don Ferguson is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs J. J. Ryan and Miss M. Bright who are inmates of the Reefton Hospital, are making good progress. Waitahu (15) defeated Waiuta (2) in the final of the Knock-out. Cup, played at Waiuta on Sunday, under ideal weather conditions, and before a good attendance. Waitahu have developed into a solid team and displayed more dash than the local side. Mr T. F. McKenzie capably controlled the game. Very heavy frosts have been experienced locally during the week, with sunny days following.
