WEDDING

SMITH—STEN HOUSE. The wedding was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, on Tuesday evening, of Kathleen, second daughter of Mr.' and Mrs. J. Stenhouse, Blackball, and Corporal John C. Smith, Medical Corps, N.Z.E.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith 174 Tainui Street, Greymouth. Rev. F. Kirkham officiated. In honour of the bridegroom, who is a Gillwell Scout, a guard oi honour under Scout-Masters Mills and Russell, was formed at the Church by the Greymouth Boy Scouts Company. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of white Eastern lace, fully trainee!. , The bodice was trimmed with tiny buttons down the back and the long pointed sleeves were pointed over the hands. Her white tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of freesias, narcissi and orange blossom. Mrs. George Smith, of Blackball, attended the bride .as matron of honour. She wore a frock of peach crepe silk, made on slim-fitting lines, with a head-dress of matching flowers. Her bouquet was of jonquils, cyclamen and maidenhair, fern. Mr. Stewart Leeming, of Greymouth, was best man, The reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, where the guests were received by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Colquhoun, or Blackball, who wore a navy costume, with cyclamen shoulder spray and navy hat. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a black costume, with shoulder spray of violets, and a black hat. For travelling, the bride chose a grey costume, navy hat and accessories to tone.
