Kosha: Kosha, a member of L. F. Berkett’s team, has revealed a deal of improvement lately and after several placings won. the Stewards’ Handicap at Awapuni in 3.23 1-5 off 3.36. In the Luoni Memorial Handicap, Kosha, who is by Red Shadow, ran second to Hardy Oak, going 4.36 1-5 off 4.46. Kia Ora King: Kia Ora King, a half-brother, by Grattan Loyal, to the speedy Cavalryman, has been acquired by E. R. Smith, owner of Peter Smith, and he has arrived in Auckland. Kia Ora King has had four starts without success.
For Auckland: Making Jxis first race appearance
since being operated on, Te Roto ran third in the President’s Handicap at the Manawatu Trotting Club’s Annual Meeting, going 2.18 off 2.56, and improving to. 2.47 for second in the Members’ Handicap. Te Roto is entered for the Auckland meeting. Slipped: Alvis, a six-year-old mare by Travis Axworthy from Deceitful, showed some promise earlier in the season, securing third in the Stewards’ Handicap at Reefton and second in the Stockton Handicap at Westport.
