THE WEATHER

[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, May 21. The weather report and forecast are as follows:— Winds light to moderate and variable over the northern half of the North Island; elsewhere moderate north-westerlies prevailing, and gradually becoming strong in exposed positions. Seas (N.Z. waters): A decreasing southerly swell on the East Coast; elsewhere moderate, but later rising somewhat in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable breezes, winds gradually freshening in the central and southern portions witih Isea becoming rather rough. Weather: Fair to fine, but with cloud increasing in Westland; some morning fogs, but temperatures rising, especially east of the main ranges.
