GUN ACCIDENT

Youth May Lose Leg

[Per Press Association] INVERCARGILL, May 21.

Keith Robertson, aged 19, a medical student, of Dunedin, suffered serious injuries in a shooting accident at Riversdale on Tuesday. Robertson was a member of a party which was hare shooting. With another, John Young, school teacher, of Christchurch, Robertson was crossing a disused bridge across a creek, when Young slipped on the frozen boards. The gun he was carrying a’ccidently discharged. Robertson was standing a few feet in front of Young, and he received the full charge in his left knee. Robertson’s condition to-day was reported to be satisfactory, Out it is possible that his leg will have to be amputated.
