350 Disabled Australians

The Minister for the Army, Mr Spender, has announced that three hundred and fifty Australian sick and wounded soldiers had to be left behind in Greece.

I At the recent competition for members of the St. John Ambulance Greymouth Division, a written test, was given to the memners lor /tne Efficiency Cup. Mr. E. F. Sapwell was the winner and will hold the cup for three months. The test was set by District Officer G. H. Griffiths and the papers forwarded to District Superintendent Rose, of Kumara, for judging. The Division is at present without two leading officers, the Divisional Superintendent being engaged on work away from town while the ambulance officer is m Hospital, Sergeant Cyril Heaphy being in charge during their absence. A few weeks ago District Officer Griffiths and four members of the Greymouth Division visited Blackball, the object being to try and form a division out there. A demonstration was given in stretcher work and a talk on First Aid and brigade work. This week sufficient names were taken, and the forms signed and forwarded to headquarters for the formation or the division in Blackball.
