SECRET SESSION
Lengthy Sitting PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS, March 13. The first secret sitting cf the present session of Parliament was he’d to-night. The House met as usual at 7.30, and immediately the Speaker occupied the chair, the Prime Minister moved a formal motion: “That his attention be called to .strangers in the galleries.” The strangers then left the galleries, and the secret session commenced with the prospect of a fairly lengthy sitting. OFFICIAL REPORT. WELLINGTON, March 14. The following official report was issued by direction of the Speaker, when the House rose at ten minutes past midnight, after the secret session: “The Prime Minister reviewed the international situation, as it has developed since Parliament last met. in the secret session. He also set out the position in regard to our expeditionary forces, and described the steps taken to organise our home defences.” Twelve other members, including a number of Ministers, took part in the discussion that followed. The House will meet at 10.30 this morning.
