ALBANIAN CAMPAIGN
R.A.F. Downs Four Planus RUGBY, February 10. An R.A.F. Middle East communique states: In Albania a small formation of Royal Air Force fighters on patrol in the Kelcyre area, yesterday, intercepted a large number of enemy' fighters. In the ensuing engagement, four C.R. 42’s were shot down and several others were badly damaged. One of our pilots nad to abandon his aircraft. He made a successful parachute descent and returned unharmed to his squadro.i . On land and in the air in Albania, Greek successes against lhe Italians continue.
An Athens report says that in spite of the bad weather, operations against the/- Italians are proceeding extremely well, and the latest Greek High Command communique says that Greek fighters shot down eight Italian aeroplanes yesterday without loss to themselves.
GREEKS DOWN PLANES (Received February 11, 11.20 p.m.) ATHENS, February 11. The .Greek night communique .states: There were successful local operations. Our aircraft without loss, shot down three enemy'planes. t Italian Attacks AGAIN REPELLED GREEKS' REPORT GAINS (Received February 11, 10.30 p.m.) ATHENS, February 11. The Greek radio stated that Greek forces have again repelled an Italian counter-attack. The attack was made against the newly-won Greek positions in the Klisura sector. The attack was completely smashed. The Italians were thrown into disorder. The radio adds that the situation on the Albanian front continues to be highly' satisfactory, and that cmeek forces have secured further vantage points, particularly on the central front. ’
