MOTORIST CONVICTED

NEGLIGENCE CAUSING DEATH

WELLINGTON, February 11

A jury of 12 in the Supreme Court tc-day found Leonard Stewart, perambulator manufacturer, of Petone, guilty of negligent driving in Cam-hi-icge Terrace, Wellington, on November 8 last, and of causing the Albert. Edward Boyes. The jur.v found him not guilty on a second count of failin'; to stop after the accident, and, becuase of boisterous weather and lhe fact that the accused was slightly' under the influence of liquor on the night of the accident, the jury made a strong recommendation to mercy.

Mr Justice Johnston remanded the accused until tomorrow for sentence.
