At a meeting of the Westport Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club Committee last evening it was decided to make every effort to hold the Mahar Cup meeting here _ on February 1. Advice was received from the Grevmouth jmd Nelson Clubs that they would' be able to send teams to West port for tne competition on that date. It was deemed to ask the Marlborough Club if it would be represented at the meeting, also th e Woodbourne Air Force Club. So far no word has been received of the intentions of the two Marlborough clubs. It is also hoped that the Motueka Club will also send a team to th c meeting. It was generally considered that as tne Westport Club had been the strongest supporters of the Mahar Cup competition since its inauguration, and had always sent big teams to other centres, the other dubs should do their best to make the meeting a most successful one.
