First Appraisal UP TO 17d. LB. [Par Press Association] INVERCARGILL, January 7. Th e valuers completed to-day the appraisal of . the first Invercargill wool catalogue of 26,330 bales, comprising chiefly fleece wools. A feature of the catalogue was the large offering of Eastern District wools, which came forward in excellent condition, particularly hogget wools. One lot of eight bales of super fine crossbred, grown by Mr. A. K. Byars (Waikaka), realised 17d. per ib. The range of prices was as follows: — Merino —Average, 16d. Half-bred: Average 14d. to 16d, inferior, 12d. to 131 d. Extra fine crossbred, 48-50, super 15d. to 16d.; average. 13id. to 14id.» inferior 12d. to 121 d.
Fine crossbred, 46-48 —super, 14d. to 15d„ average. 12id. to 134 d.; inferior, 113 d. Medium crossbred, 44-46—super, 14Jd.; average 12d. to 13d.; inferior, 103 d. to 113 d. Necks, half-bred —14d.; fin e crossbred 13d. to 13id.; ordinary crossbred, lid. to Hid. Pieces: Fine crossbred, lid. to 113 d.; crossbred, Bd. to lOd. Bellies: Half-bred, lid.; fine crossbred, 9id. to 10d.; crossbred, Bd. to 9id. I Crutchings: First, 9id. to 10id.; medium, 7id. to 83d.; low, sd. to 71d. Locks, sd. to 6id. Hoggets, half-bred, 151 d. Extra super crossbred, 17d.; super crossbred, 15d. to 16id., fine crossbred, 14d. to 15id., crossbred, 123 d. to 14d.
