WATERSIDERS’ PAY

REPLY TO FARMERS’ UNION. . BY GREY BRANCH. A fully attended meeting of the Greymopth Branch of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union unanimously carried the following resolution: —“It is the opinion of the members of the Watersjders’ Union that the request from the Farmers’ Union for an investigation into the wages and conditions of the Watersiders was prompted by the big farmers. Neither we, nor the working farmer, have anything in common with these “Squatters.’’ We have no objection to any investigation into pur wages and conditions, provided those making the request will agree to an investigation into their income, earned and unearned.”
