In Wages and Salaries NEW AUSTRALIAN INCOME TAX [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.r (Received December 13, 1.10 a.m.) , CANBERRA, December 12The Federal Treasurer, to-night announced that compulsory payments as incom e tax will be made deductable from salaries and wages, as from the first pay-day, under the wartime Budget. The deductions will be as follows: For taxpayers without dependents, on a salary of five pounds per week —deduction ss. Six pounds —deduction Os. Seven pounds—Deduction 14s. Eight pounds —deduction 20s. Nine pounds—deduction 22s 6d. Ten pounds—deduction 30s. Twelve pounds —deduction 425. Fourteen pounds—deduction 495. Sixteen pounds—deduction 565. Eighteen pounds —deduction 81 s. Nineteen pounds—deduction 95s Taxpayers with dependents will be allowed to make .five 'shillings of a reduction from the tax payable, in respect of each dependent
