THEFT CHARGE

Solicitor s Woman Clerk COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. [Per Press Association] AUCKLAND, December 12. A woman clerk, formerly employed in an Auckland solicitor’s office, Phyllis Olive Barnett, aged 31, appeared in the Police Court, charged with stealing £BOO, the property of Mary Cochrane Baird t and another, on December 6, 1939. The accused pleaded not guilty, and she- was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was granted in self of £4OO, and two sureties of £2OO each.
