ALEXXANDER. The gold returns for the month ot August are: —Battery department 315 tons of ore crushed for 1450 z 9 dwts of melted gold. Cyanide department: 395 tons of sands treated for the months of July and August for 570 z 9dwts of bullion. Total estimated value: £1513. In addition 6.5 tons of concentrates were saved valued at £317. - NEW RIVER Return for week ended September 5: 20 ozs of gold from 9345 yards in 102 hours. WHITE’S ELECTRIC. Return for week ended September 5, 1940: 26 ozs from 8960 yards in 110 hours. GILLESPIE’S .BEACH. Wash-up for week ended September 7: 51 ozs 19 dwts in 132 hours from 16,770 yards. CLUTHA RIVER Return for week ended September 6: 46 ozs for 131 hours. RIMU FLAT For the clean-up period ending September 9, Rimu Flat obtained 183 ozs 2 dwts of gold, in 130 hours 14 minutes, from 43,224 yards.
