THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, September 10. The weather report is as follows:— General situation: A disturbance which had been, crossing the Dominion has formed a secondary depression near Taranaki. An anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia and Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong, southerly to southeasterly, becoming general during tonight. Seas in New Zealand waters: Rough between East Cape and Banks Peninsula, and rather rough north of Kawhia; elsewhere, moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-easterly winds, strong at times, in the northern portion; otherwise moderate. Seas rough in the north and moderate in the south. Weather unsettled in the eastern districts between Kaikoura and East Cape, with intermittent rain, but improving to-morrow from the south; elsewhere cloudy. Further scattered showers are likely in the western districts of the North Island. Temperatures < 001, with frosts to-night in Canterbury and Otago.
