Admiral’s Action AGAINST BRITISH ARMED MERCHANTMEN. | VICHY, August 4. A Government communique declared’ that the British cruiser “Bulolo,” which had been anchored, at Duaia since June 24, was replaced by H.M.S. “Dragon” on July 21, when armed British patrols landed and marched through the town. “The French Admiral commanding the Atlantic forces quickly intervened, whereupon the British returned to their ship. “In Madagascar, it was necessary to explain the circumstances in which the recent decision, extending territorial limits to 20 miles, applied. It was specified that the extension did not apply to British or other merchantmen, which could move fre&iy in this zone.” There is a British armed merchantman named “Bulolo.” BRITISH DIPLOMATS. LEAVE FRENCH MOROCCO. NEW YORK, August 4. The Rome radio reports that the British diplomatic staff have arrived at Tangier. They have been given 24 hours to leave French Morocco. FACTORIES IN FRANCE. LONDON, August 4. The Associated Press Vichy correspondent says that the Minister for Industrial Production in Berlin said: If French war industries in the occupied area are working for Germany, they are acting contrary to the wishes of the Petain Government. Such factories are in a position to open operations, but they will not begin manufacturing of war material if we have anything to say about it.
