SWEDEN’S FEAR
NON-DEMOCRATIC PRESSURE. (Received August 5, 9.30 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, August 5. Mr Hansson (Prime Minister of Sweden), in a speech, said: —“If democracy has failed where the conditions are unsuitable for it, it does not follow that it must yield where it has become the natural expression of a people’s life, as in Sweden. There is no need for Sweden to copy foreign models. Our internal affairs do not require any new orientation, even if there is room for certain improvements in our democratic methods.
