Patrick, Evans Creek. Rev. Father Joyce, of Ross, visits Harihari on Sunday next, at 10.30 a.m. Mr P. J. McLean was a week-end visitor to the district. The following rep. team has been selected by Messrs Rowley and McMillan to represent South Westland against Hokitika in the Dittman Shield match at Harihari next Saturday: Full-back, J. McMillan; threequarters, P. Nolan, J'. Keating, V. Berry; five-eighths, J. Nolan. J. Weir; half-back, R. Vincent; ’ forwards, C. Thiele, J. Walsh, Ron Adamson, Donnelly, P. Adamson, G. Berry, A.yGibb, F. Minchan.
At lhe week-end, football teams representing Harihari and Wataroa played a match wUh an eye to the selection of the reps, to defend the Dittman Shield, which has been held by South Westland for two seasons. In an interesting game, the local team led 6-0 at half time, ’ but Wataroa scored a try on the resumption, and till the last five minutes there was no further score, but then Harihari 1 got another converted try, winning by 11 to 3. The good standard of play generally gave the selectors a I difficult task in picking the reps. .
