RUGBY FOOTBALL
CANTERBURY-COAST MATCHES. CHRISTCHURCH, April IT. The Canterbury Rugby Union last evening decided to defer until after the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union that the “home and home” matches between Canterbury and the West Coast be maintained. The letter suggested that the first of the games he played on June 3 at Greymouth. Mr. D. I. Macdonald voiced the hope that the Canterbury delegates would favourably consider the plan. Mr. E. V. Phillips suggested that as so much had been done by Canterbury for the West Coast Union, in going to Grey mouth first, the West Coast team might come to Christchurch on June 3. Canterbury had been going over there for four years. Mr. R. R. Masters: We must consider that when the West Coast comes over here they always bring a big following. That is important. The chairman. Mr. J. K. Moloney: You can rest assured we will watcn the situation and come to a judicious decision
