N.S.W. DROUGHT RETURNING. (Received March 19, 10.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 19. The fall of rain in New South Wales, as cabled last night, proves to have been very light over most of the State, with only a quarter of an inch in the Sydney metropolitan area. The rain has now ceased. Hot and humid conditions are returning, and are causing the greatest disappointment. VICTORIAN RAINS. (Received March 19, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 19. A report from Melbourne states that good rain is falling in parts of Victoria, where it was most needed, particularly in Gippsland.
