END OF DROUGHT

In New South Wales [Aust. &■ N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received March 18 11.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 18. The drought which for six months has prevailed in New South Wales appears to be breaking. Reports are now arriving in the city from various parts of the country that rain has commenced to fall, and the northwestern areas are receiving a drenching. The news is causing wide relief and jubilation. The State Meteorologist expresses the opinion that rain will probably fall throughout the State and will prove most bountiful. Rain has already reached Sydney, and is forming the chief topic of conversation with all classes.
