ST. PATRICK’S SPORTS
To-morrow's Meeting
The largest public gathering in connection with the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, will doubtless be that at Victoria Park to-morrow, when the sports’ meeting is held. The customary spectaculai' procession through the main streets to the Park will precede the sports, and should as usual be well worth seeing. The sports have this year come at a most appropriate time in the midst of the autumn circuit, and there is consequently a larger entry than usual of cyclists, axemen, runners and jumpers, while the national dancing programme also should attract a stronger competition than last year. The Committee have arranged for an afternoon tea booth and publicans’ booth, while there will be numerous diversions in the form of side shows. For the juvenile element, there is also a comprehensive programme of racing and other events. No doubt the support accorded the sports by axemen, cyclists and runners, will be an inducement to a further enlargement of the programme next year.
