PETROL COUPONS

NO CARRY OVER 1 TILL APRIL. WELLINGTON, March 13. Although April petrol coupons maybe used during March, the present month’s coupons have a currencyonly until the end of the month, the Minister of Supply, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, stated to-day. “A number of people have asked whether they can keep March coupons and use them during April,” said Mr. Sullivan. “Until we have obtained a more accurate index of the seasonal demand, I am afraid that we will not be able to consider the accumulation of coupons. Arrangments to anticipate petrol rations from next month were made solely because of the Easter holidays and the final leave of the Second Echelon. When we are able to gauge our demand satisfactorily in advance, we shall be in a position to consider proposals regarding the saving of petrol coupons in special cases.”
