PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE
A meeting of the men’s committee of the new Grtymouth Patriotic Society vzas held in the Borough Council Chambers, there being present: The Mavor (Mr F. A. Kitcbingham >. Messrs D. Tennent, J. W. Grcons’ade, T. P. Ryan, F. H. Denton, and W. H. Parfitt (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from M srr; W. Meldrum, A. H. McKane, F W Baillie, P. V J. McLean and G. F Pmkins.
Tt was dec’ded to make a districtwide appeal, the town to be “blockedoff,” and collectors appointed for each
block. It was further decided that a public meeting be called after Easter to make final arrangements. The secretary was instructed to cal! a meeting of representatives of Labour Unions and employers to discuss the organisation of funds. It was decided to write to Mr J. S. Robertson, expressing appreciation of h\ gesture in donating £lO.OOO to the national appeal. It was decided to send letters to Messrs McKane and Meldrum wishing thsm a speedy restoration to •
