WHARF LABOUR

| MPROVEMENT of CONDITIONS. WELLINGTON, March 13. The report of the Inter-Depart-mental Committee which has been investigating the conditions of employment on the waterfronts, with o view to improvement, has been received by the Government. Copies of this document were made available to the representatives of the ship-owners and of the Executive <> the Waterside Workers’ Union at a conference with the Government at Parliament House to-day, and they have agreed to give their observations on the report at a further conference on Monday. Hon P. C. Webb presided over the conference. Addresses were also given by Hons. P. Fraser. W. Nash and D. G. Sullivan.
