LEAGUE FOOTBALL

WEST COAST LEAGUE. A special meeting of the West Coast Rugby League was held last evening, there being present Messrs P. Blanchfield, junr. (Chairman), W. Hopkins, J. Stokes, J. Anisy, W. Moore, H. Basset, J. Mathews, B. Ramsay, M. Power, and B. Rathbun. Motions of condolence with the Barlow, Kennedy, Connors, Heslin and O’Connell families were passed. The President tabled an insurance scheme showing how, with Social Security- benefit, married players could draw £4 weekly. After discussion the scheme was held over for further consideration from the delegates of, the Clubs at the annual meeting. A motion to build a grandstand at Wingham Park to the limit of the League’s resources was carried after lengthy discussion, and tenders will be called for its erection this month.
