SAD END
To Holiday Cruise FAMILY DROWNED. (Received January 17, 1.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, January 16. The most serious drowning tragedy of the season occurred to-day at Inverloch, when a 30-foot launch capsized at the bar entrance of Anderson’s Inlet. A man, his wife, and their two sons all lost their lives. The victims were Mr. and Mrs. Frongerud and their two boys aged twelve and ten years, of Wonthaggi The family had travelled from Inverloch to Melbourne, a voyage of about 100 miles, mostly in the open sea, during the holidays. They were returning by easy stages. They had travelled 33 miles to-day on the last stage when the tragedy occurred. There was a heavy sea running at the time. Inverloch is the nearest port to Wonthaggi. which is about seven miles away by road. Mr. Frongerud, aged 65 years, was formerly the Mayor of Wonthaggi.
