CLAY BIRD SHOOTING

Centennial Tournament [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON. January 16. Each shooting the possible of 25 to-day, I. G. Watkins (Rangiora), A. N. Turner (Christchurch), and J. W. McKenzie (Masterton), divided the first, second, and ,third prizes in the £l5O single rse clay target handicap at the New Zealand Gun Club’s Association Centennial trap-shooting tournament, which opened at the Hutt Valley Gun Club’s ground to-day. Each took £43 15s. Turner and McKenzie scored the possible off the first barrel. Watkns had the second barrel on his fifth and 25th shots.

Four were equal with 24, namely, D. P. North (Wanganui), T. Clouston (Lauder), E. Broad (Invercargill), and M. Kearins (Palmerston North). They divided fourth and fifth money, each taking £4 13s 9d. There were competitors at the tournament from all parts of New Zealand, including nine former flew Zealand clay target shooting champions.
