According to a Lisbon Press message, the results of the subscription taken in September for the erection or a statue to Mr Chamberlain, as a tribute to his efforts for peace, will,, according to the wish of Mr Chamberlain, as expressed through the British Ambassador, be applied to public charity, under the direction of the Diario De Noticias, with the consent of the Portuguese Government. It has been resolved to donate a portion of the money to the erection of a maternity hospital in Lisbon.
