EXAM. CONCESSIONS
For University Recruits

The question of concessions to University students mobilised for defence purposes was considered to-day at a meeting of the executive- committee of the Senate, and the following decisions were reached: -
(1) That in cases recommended by the professorial' boards, candidates who otherwise would have to sit at the forthemoing examinations would be passed without further examination. Notification of the passes so granted is being posted to each student concrened.
(2) That any student in camp, iil be permitted to sit in any subject (whether he obtained terms therein or not). This is being done to ensure that all possible concessions are made to students whose cases do not fall under (1).
Under the amending Act the University must have some basis on which to grant concessions. Candidates may rest assured that the results of work presented by them will be considered by a special committee which will take into consideration the extent to which their studies have been affected by military duties and bv extraordinary conditions under which their examinations are being (3) That where candidates do not avail themselves of the above concessions, examination fees will be refunded on early written application (4) That a special sub-committee be set up to consider cases that present difficulty in order to ensure that, as far as practicable, no student shall suffer by reason of hio military duties.
