Right Along Rhine ATTACK NEAR SWISS BORDER. (Received Sept. 5, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 4. The Associated Press of America correspondent in Paris states: “Fighting appears now to be general along the two hundred mile Rhine River frontier. French troops are reported to be hammering at the “Burgundy Gates/’ which is the valley enclosed by the Vosges Mountains and the Alps. This scene of operations is, northward of the conjunction of the French, German, and Swiss frontiers. ■ There is a further great offensive reported in the Valley of the Moselle . River, which runs from the Vosges Mountains to the Rhine River being situated in the east of central France.

Siegfried Line PENETRATED AT SEVERAL POINTS. (Received September 6, 4 a.m.) LONDON, September 5. It is reported that fighting has been in progress since dawn on Monday along the French frontier for a distance of three hundred miles.
