New Leader Elected MR W. J. McKELL CHOICE OF CAUCUS. (Received September 5, 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 5. Mr J. T. Lang’s 17 year reign as the official Leader of the New South Wales Labour Party ended to-day, when, in the first caucus ballot for thirteen years, he was displaced byMr W. J. McKell, who was Minister of Justice in the former Labour Ministries. Mr J. Ileffron. the other candidate for leadership, secured only seven votes. The voting was as follows:Mr W. J. McKell 20 Mr J. T. Lang 12 Mr J. Heffron T Mr McKell is 47 years of age. He has represented Redfern constituency continuously for seventeen years. He was originally a boilermaker.
