Ambassador to China, Mr Johnson has been summoned home immediately for a consultation with President Roosevelt Mr Johnson!, however, will shortly return to China. Japan Pays BRITISH GUNBOAT BOMBED. SHANGHAI, December 8. Japan has expressed regret for the bombing of H.M.S. “Sandpiper,” and is paying damages.
