TO PLAY FOR £2OOO STAKE. | Henry Cotton, England’s most colourful golfer, will take part in a golf match for the biggest' stake ever in Britain —£2000. Cotton, partnered by Harrv Bentley, will play General Critchley, and a professional yet to be chosen, in a 72 holes foursomes —36 holes at Birkdale and 36 at the Addington new course. A wealthy Lancashire sportsman, Cecil Moores ,who is a pupil of Cotton, has backed Cotton and Bentley for £2OOO, and has promised Cotton £5OO if he and his partner win. > General Critchley has wagered £505 with Moores and £5O with Cotton.
