NOT TO AID FASCISTS

BRITISH ARMAMENTS. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, May 26. At the conference between the Ministers and representatives of the Trades Union Congress, Sir W. Citrine, expressed the fear that Britain’s armed strength may be used to assist Fascists.

Mr Chamberlain replied: “I am no Fascist, but a democrat of the home breed. The Government desires peace, and if this can be achieved for two years, I believe the danger of an international upheaval will subside.”

He added that the Government did not desire to support either side in Spain.
