It will Tie seen that this year’s game goes down in history as the greatest failure the South Island has yet khown. The North Island's win, with an almost exclusive Auckland team, prompts a question: Why do the South Island Leagues not get • fair treatment from Auckland In the matter of representative games? When that question is satisfactorily answered, the cause of 1938’s debacle can be more fully investigated.
