The Rome correspondent of the British United Press says: “It is authoritatively stated that King Victor Emanuel, of Italy, has accepted from Herr Hitler an invitation to visit Berlin in July. LONDON, May IS. “The Times’s” Berlin correspondent says that the pastors have received a registered letter, instructing them to take the oath before May 20. It is relieved that half of them will refuse. VIENNA, May 18. Starhemberg’s castle at Eferding, Upper Austria, is being transformed Into a labour camp. COLOMBO, May 18. Field Marshal Von Blomberg and his bride arrived on the way back to Europe, after the honeymoon. They posed to photographers. The Field Marshal was wearing shorts and tennis shoes. He intimated that he was giving up politics, retiring to private life. He spoke enthusiastically of Hitler, whom he described as “My great friend.”
