lOur Own Correspondent.] The Brunner Branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association held their annual re-union banquet in the Dobson Hall. There was a good attendance, the following branches being represented: Blackball, Waiuta, Lake Brunner, and Runanga. The President, Mr. W. Gutberlet, extended a hearty welcome to all. Mr. N. McNabb. assisted by the Blackball orchestra, supplied the music. The following were the toast list and items: Toast, “The King,” with musical honours; toast, “Fallen Comrades”; song, Mr. Smithson, "In the eyes of the World You’re Mine”; toast, “imperial Returned Soldiers,” responded to Oy Messrs G. English (Runanga) and J Scott (Waiuta); song, Mr. Wilton, "Mountains of Mourne”; community singing, war time songs; toast, "N.Z.R.5.A.,” proposed by Mr. W. Gutberlet; song, Mr. J. Richardson, “Parody on the Mountains of Mourne”; toast, “Sub Branches," responded to by Messrs M. O’Flaherty (Blackball), Musgrove (Runanga), J. Scott (Waiuta), J. Saunders (Lake Brunner), and R. Hunt (Executive Council); song, Mr. Hunt, “Laughing Coon”; toast, “The Orchestra,” responded to by Mr. Meikle; song, Mr. Long; recitation, Mr. Warwick; song, Mr. J. Scott, “I Belong to Glasgow"; community songs; song, Mr. W. Hazeldine, “The Money I Earn is Clean”; stories, Mr. J. Dickson; song, Mr. Musgrove, "Absence”; song, Mr. J. Richardson, “Mary.” In proposing the “N.Z.R.5.A.,” the ChairriTan expressed regret at the absence trom gathering of Greymouth representatives. Mr. J. Smith, a member of the recent contingent to the Australian Anzac Parade, gave a very interesting talk on the trip, this item being much appreciated. Further community singing and "Auld Lang Syne” brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
