BOXING

DUNEDIN BOUTS. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, May 16. A full house in the Town Hall this evening saw a double professional bill presented by the Otago Boxing Association that provided plenty of action. Stan Jenkin (Oamaru), defeated Ciarrie Marshall (Gisborne). Jenkin took charge of affairs toward the middle of the bout, and won convincingly. | A ten-round match, between the lightweights, Jim Mitchell (Christchurch), and Lex Greaney (Dunedin) was a non-stop affair for nine rounds. Mitchell kept after his man all the time, and, although he absorbed a lot of punishment in the middle rounds, he knocked Greaney down in the ninth round, and had him very groggy when the referee stopped the bout in his favour.
