PALESTINE STRIFE. HAIFA, February 18. Squadron-Leader R. E. Alderson was killed, when a volley was fired into a Jewish taxi, in which he was a passenger. An Englishwoman was serious ly wounded, and the driver was slightly wounded. TERRORISM continues. JERUSALEM, February 20. Police dogs trailed Alderson’s assailants to a village, where the authorities impounded 800 sheep and goats belonging to the inhabitants, and shot dead an Arab-who was attempting to break through the cord°n' , nA JERUSALEM, February 20. As a reprisal for the murder of Alderson, two houses were blown up in the village where it was perpetrated. Sporadic acts of terrorism continue throughout Palestine. The Government is recruiting special police for the frontier unit, and an increased military force has been despatched to the Trans-Jordan.
