THE WEATHER

WELLINGTON, November 29. The weather report and forecast is as follows:—
General situation: Rather intense anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, its centre having moved to the eastward while a slight depression has been advancing slowly across the S'outh Tasman Sea.
Forecast: Winds easterly at first over the northern portion of the North Island; otherwise northerlies prevailing; force, light to moderate generally, but freshening somewhat about and south of Cook Strait.
Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough at times ab'out Cook and Foveaux Straits; otherwise slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate, but freshening winds easterly to north easterlies in the northern portion, and northerlies in the southern, with seas moderate. . Weather: Still mainly fair to fine but clouding and haze gradually increasing and scattered rains developing in the western and far southern districts r of the South Island. Temperatures warm.
