Four shots were tired at the Premier of Egypt, Nahas Pasha, as he drove through Heliopolis, to attend a political meeting. Policemen leapt from his escorting car. They captured an Egyptian youth, named Izzedine Abd El Khader who had two revolvers in his possession.

Khader was clad in the uniform of the Greenshire Organisation, the Young Egyptians, which is hostile to the Premier and to the Anglo-Egypti-an Treaty.

After the shooting, Nahas Pasha drove to the meeting, where he personally announced his attempted assassination.

Crowds of his supporters, armed with sticks, marched from the meeting, and smashed the windows of the Opposition newspapers. Small bands of hooligans also created disturbances elsewhere. OPPOSITION LEADER. MENACED BY DEMONSTRATORS CAIRO, November 29. Serious disturbances have ocurred outside of the home of Mohamed Mahmud Pasha, the leader of the Egyptian opposition. He ordered his servants to fire into the air. The crowd also fired.

The police charged the crowd, and several of the demonstrators were injured.

The arrested Khader is a grandson of Arabi Pasha, the leader of the 1882 revolution in Egypt. He is 22 years of age.
